Take your Stand Up Paddleboard with you as you bike up to Sheilds Lake, or explore the countless nooks and cranies of thetis lake by canoe with a friend. Spend an early morning fishing at the far end of Matheson Lake, or admire the lilly pads at Glen Lake.
Paddling on still freshwaters is a great way to really get to know a lake. It offers the chance to get away from the crowd and to see parts of the lake you can’t from the shoreline. Victoria, Sooke and Saanich have many small lakes that are ideal for an afternoon picnic, fishing with a friend in the fall or just exploring a new place.
